During Palm Sunday and Easter, it is a cherished tradition in many parishes of our eparchy for the adults to organize Easter egg hunts for children. This is an excellent way to bring the joy of Christ’s Resurrection to the youngest members of our Church, while also uniting the parish community in an atmosphere of joy and hope.
On Palm Sunday, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, hosted the annual Easter egg hunt organized by the Holy Name Society. Children eagerly filled their baskets with colorful eggs filled with surprises, while the entire community—from parents to grandparents—cheered on the little ones.
Similarly, at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Easton, Pennsylvania, on Palm Sunday, after the Divine Liturgy, parents organized a springtime Easter egg hunt for the children. The children were divided into two age groups, each with its designated area for the hunt. The organizers hid a “golden egg” in each area, and the lucky ones who found them received special prizes.
On Saturday, April 19, Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, will hold an Easter egg hunt for children. The event will take place on the grounds between the church and the parish store. Organizers kindly ask that children register in advance and not forget their Easter baskets. Those who want to help can bring candy, plastic eggs, or small gifts to fill the surprises.
Many children participated in the Easter egg hunt at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia. The children excitedly ran around the cathedral grounds, searching for the colorful eggs hidden for them. At the end of the event, all participants gathered together for a festive and joyful photo, creating a wonderful memory of this joyous day.

On Thomas Sunday, April 27, after the Divine Liturgy at 11:30 AM, another festive Easter egg hunt will be held at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The program will include candy, fun games, crafts, and much joy for children and families.
The festive events continue, and we are happy to share similar initiatives. If your parish has also held or is planning an Easter egg hunt, please let us know, and we will gladly share this joy with our readers.
