85th Annual Ukrainian Seminary Day Will Be Held Sunday, July 28 in Minersville; Metropolitan Borys Gudziak Will Be Main Celebrant and Homilist at 11 am Divine Liturgy

Minersville, PA.–The 85th Annual Ukrainian Seminary Day will be held Sunday, July 28th at St. Nicholas Church Picnic Grounds in Primrose (just outside Minersville), Schuylkill County, Pa. This annual event is sponsored by the 12 parishes and faithful of the South Anthracite Deanery under the leadership of their respective pastors.

His Grace, Metropolitan-Archbishop Borys Gudziak will be the main celebrant and homilist at the 11 am Divine Liturgy.

Entertainment includes The Kaska Ukrainian Folk Ensemble and The Pennsylvania Villagers Polka Band.

Ukrainian arts and crafts, including embroidery and pysanky demonstrations will be available.

Pyrohy, holubtsi, kobasa, halushki, home-made soups, home-made cakes and pastries, together with traditional American fare and beverages will also be available.

Admission and parking are free. Buses are welcome.

St. Nicholas Picnic Grove and Hall are located on Route 901 one mile north of Minersville in the village of Primrose, Schuylkill County, Pa. (GPS locator: 855 Sunbury Road, Pottsville, Pa.)

From 1985 through 2018, the clergy and faithful of the South Anthracite Deanery through the annual Ukrainian Seminary Day and Lenten devotions have raised over $941,100 for the financial support of the seminary, which is located adjacent to the campus of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Plan now to attend this 85th celebration of faith, spiritual and cultural heritage in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania, home of the first Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in America.
