Archbishop Borys Participates in Permanent Synod

The 18th (69th) session of the Permanent Synod was held online December 15-17, 2021. Metropolitan Borys is one of the four bishops of this advisory body which is presided over by the UGCC’s Head. During this session, our Metropolitan presented a summary report of his activities in 2021 as chair of the Department of External Church Relations.

The session included updates from others as well, including Bishop Yaroslav Pryriz of Sambir and Drohobych, who is in charge of the UGCC’s Theological Commission, and Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski of the Eparchy of the Holy Family in London, who directs the Church’s Pastoral Council. Members of the Permanent Synod also discussed several issues related to the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches.
