As the 2024–2025 academic year draws to a close, the three Catholic schools of the eparchy — Assumption Catholic School in Perth Amboy, NJ, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School in Passaic, NJ, and St. Nicholas School in Minersville, PA — reflect with joy and pride on their accomplishments, offering thanks to students, parents, and teachers.
At Assumption Catholic School, the end of the school year was marked by a series of warm and memorable events. Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 students participated in their very first Stepping Up ceremony, sharing highlights of the year with their parents. Diplomas were presented by Principal Mrs. Shumny, and the celebration concluded with a prayer by Father Ivan. Kindergarten students also received their diplomas, while their teachers — Ms. Troche-Perez and Mrs. Metz — proudly celebrated the progress of each child.
First and second graders said goodbye to the school year with a Hawaiian-themed party, complete with pineapples and colorful leis, while the third grade wrapped up the year with posters and thoughtful gifts. Eighth-grade graduates celebrated the end of their elementary school journey in a special way. The day began with the Divine Liturgy, followed by a festive awards ceremony, heartfelt speeches, and tearful embraces — marking the close of one chapter and the beginning of another. The students expressed words of gratitude, hope for the future, and appreciation to their teachers and families. The school takes great pride in its graduates and sends them forth with prayerful blessings as they enter a new stage of life.
At St. Nicholas School in Minersville, the end of the year was filled with emotion and heartfelt gratitude. The eighth-grade class of 2025 proudly completed their journey, receiving warm congratulations and words of encouragement — a reminder that they will always have a home at St. Nicholas. The school staff extended their best wishes as students move on to high school and new achievements. The youngest students — this year’s kindergarten graduates — also received their very first diplomas, along with loving words to mark the beginning of their school adventure.
At St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School in Passaic, the end of the academic year was celebrated with joy and a spirit of togetherness. It was a wonderful opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to spend meaningful time together. Everyone rejoiced not only in the final days of school but also in the atmosphere of community that the school nurtures every day. On June 13, the kindergarten graduation took place—children celebrated their first major milestone with a touching and joyful ceremony.
Wishing all students, teachers, parents, and school communities a blessed summer, filled with rest, joy, and inspiration for new achievements ahead.
