JOY-ful Giving

Time to emerge from hibernation, Spring is upon us! The Just Older Youth (JOY) aka Seniors Club of St. Nicholas Parish held their March monthly meeting to discuss plans for spring activities. Ideas being entertained ranged from a bus trip to Bethlehem, PA and a NY state winery tour, to a visit to the Stamford Ukrainian Museum and Library and lunch with the Bishop. A lively discussion ensued in between pizza and beer (that’s root beer, of course!). All Club activities are intended to be entertaining, educational, and to raise funds.  These funds are used to support the parish and its parochial elementary school.  The school has recently welcomed 30 Ukrainian War refugee children to its classrooms and needs financial support.  On this occasion, the Club’s Executive Committee, in agreement with members, presented a $250.00 donation to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Parish.  Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 11th at 10:30 am in the hall beneath the Church.
