Metropolitan Meets with Mothers in Prayer

On Saturday, December 18, Archbishop Borys Gudziak met with members of the “Mothers in Prayer” movement from all over the world by Zoom. Participants hailed from the U.S. and Canada, Ukraine, France, and other countries. The online meeting was organized by Mrs. Lesia Muraszczuk, Coordinator of Mothers in Prayer in the U.S., and Fr. Roman Oliynyk, spiritual director of the movement at the Archeparchial level.

During the meeting the Metropolitan presented the Synod of Bishops’ Pastoral Letter, The Hope to Which the Lord Calls Us. This letter provides guidance for the 2030 Pastoral Plan of the entire Ukrainian Catholic Church which is founded on the previous Pastoral Plan of 2020 (The Vibrant Parish – a Place to Encounter the Living Christ). The Archbishop pointed out that the 2030 Plan will emphasize family and pastoral conversion.

During the Q&A session he encouraged the Mothers in Prayer to gather together to read and discuss this letter. Moreover, Archbishop Borys invited all present to read the Gospel daily. At the end of the meeting he thanked the women for their active engagement in parish life and wished them a blessed Christmas season.
