Philip’s Fast Videos

During Philip’s Fast Metropolitan Borys Gudziak invites us to rethink this period of the year and prepare our homes, hearts, and thoughts for the coming of the Messiah through a series of “tasks” and “challenges.”

Every morning at 8AM, the Metropolitan addresses followers on social media via a short video and encourages certain actions. He pays attention to the spiritual, mental, and physical spheres of human existence because their development constitutes the holistic development of each person.

“In our preparation for the coming of the Messiah, the most important area of human life is the spiritual realm. But our spiritual life must also be reasonable. For the mind itself can do much harm without the spiritual life when it is not guided by spiritual truth,” says Halyna Vasylytsia, videographer and initiator of the project.

She notes that another important area of life is our body: “The Second Vatican Council underscored development of the physical sphere as particularly important: ‘One in body and soul, man in his bodily state has absorbed the elements of the material world, which find their peak in it and can freely glorify their Creator. Thus, man is forbidden to despise bodily life. On the contrary, she must value and honor her body, which was created by God and which must be resurrected on the last day.’” (Gaudium et Spes, 14.1)

This Christmas project is shared on the Archeparchy’s social network accounts: Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/archeparchyphilly; Instagram – archeparchy_philadelphia

We sincerely invite you to join the project! Together let us prepare our hearts for the coming of the Messiah!
