St. Nicholas School in Minersville, PA Gather to Pray for peace in Ukraine

On Wednesday, Jan. 26th, the Day of Prayer for Peace in Ukraine, the students and staff of St. Nicholas School in Minersville, PA, gathered in the church to pray for peace in Ukraine.  Father Mark Fesniak, pastor, spoke to the children about the dangerous situation in Ukraine and the need for us to pray for our people and our Church. He then led the students and staff in prayers and songs asking the Mother of God for Her protection and intercession.

The prayer service began with Father Mark lighting a candle for Ukraine before the icon of the Mother of God, while the students and staff sang the song, Always Protect Us. This candle remains lit in the church.

The students sang responses to portions of Moleben and intercessions for Ukraine.

Father Mark prayed the Prayer for Ukraine and the children sang Immaculate Mary to close the service.
