The fourth meeting of Pastoral Council Group

On Monday June 14, Archbishop Borys convened the fourth meeting of Pastoral Council Group.

After a prayer, the Archbishop shared the news about the new priests who arrived to the US to serve at the Philadelphia Archeparchy: six priests, one graduated seminarian, and one lay woman. The newcomers briefly introduced themselves and their families. Archbishop Borys shared his provisional plan to invite a few more priests, religious, and laity from Ukraine.

The Archbishop introduced the global Pastoral Plan for the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Archbishop Borys was a head of the Synodal Group, which drafted a general framework of the Plan accepted by the UGCC Synod of bishops in March. Preparing general framework, bishops held numerous meetings and consultations some of which were online due to COVID-19 outbreak.

The meeting ended with an open discussion on the Pastoral Plan which also included the idea of sharing of resources and creating the tools to help introduce these ideas to parishioners

The next meeting will be on July 20, 2021
