Vicar general and chancellor of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia Msgr Peter Waslo was elevated to the rank of Mitred Archpriest.

The ceremony took place in Fr Peter's home parish in Ambridge, PA.

“It was 64 years ago, in this very spot, where I became a Christian. And this coming Thursday, it's going to be 37 years, on that floor up there, I laid down and became a Deacon.

So, this parish has been a very important part of my life, growing up, and always being able to come back to it.

Our parish has been blessed”.

-- Msgr Peter Waslo

“Today, in this beautiful church, in the communion of our baptism, we are giving gratitude, giving grace, giving our hearts to the Lord for the gift of our fellowship, for the charisma of grace, and for the special gift of Archpriest Peter Daniel Waslo, a son of this parish. He is a priest's priest. He's a bishop's priest. He has a pastor's heart.

When the Lord calls, when the church asks, when the bishop is in need, Fr. Archpriest Peter David never says no. You can always count on him”.
