Placing Mental Health in the Lord's Hands | An Evening of Prayer and Reflection on Mental Health Ministry

• Location: Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception | 830 N. Franklin Street, Philadelphia, PA

This October, Pope Leo XIV invited the entire Catholic Church to pray “that a mental health ministry may be established throughout the Church, helping to overcome the stigma and discrimination of persons with mental illnesses.”

The Ukrainian Catholic Metropolia in the United States invites you to come, pray, and reflect on mental health ministry on November 19, 2026, at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia.

The evening will begin with Vespers for the feast of Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska, foundress of the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate, who are called to serve wherever the need is greatest. Vespers will be followed by a presentation on Ukrainian Catholic Charities USA, the first Eastern Catholic charities organization in the United States, established by the four Ukrainian Catholic eparchies in the country.

The president and the chaplain of the International Association of Mental Health Ministries will then take part in a round-table discussion on the topic. The evening will conclude with a prayer for healing and anointing with blessed oil, followed by refreshments and informal conversation.
