Christmas Arrives in March

“Dya-ku-ye-mo!”, chanted the happy and grateful children from the parish of Archangel St. Michael under the guidance of Rev. Volodymy Drozd, in the village of Velyka Kamyanka, a parish in the flood zone of Kolomyia, in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.

The logistical challenges presented by the global pandemic notwithstanding, these 50 plus needy children finally received the gifts of warm winter clothing, hats, scarfs, and gloves purchased through the kindness and generosity of the parishioners of St. Nicholas parish, Passaic, NJ.

This winter marked the 20th year the parish has conducted this worthy Christmas Giving Tree project. We thank our parishioners for supporting this project and extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ukraine Express for negotiating the difficulties of lockdown, travel restrictions, and last remains of Kolomyia flooding encountered while delivering the gifts.
