Co-directors of the Religious Education Ministry took part in the Jubilee Pilgrimage of Catechists in Rome

On September 26–28, 2025, the Jubilee Pilgrimage of Catechists took place in Rome, with the participation of the co-directors of the Religious Education Ministry of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia – Rev. Mykola and Mrs. Uliana Dziurakh.

On September 27, catechists from around the world had the opportunity to meet with the Holy Father at an audience in St. Peter’s Square. Later, at the Pro-cathedral of Santa Sofia in Rome, pilgrims of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church prayed the Divine Liturgy, presided over by Bishop Michael Kwiatkowski, head of the Patriarchal Catechetical Commission. Following the solemn Divine Liturgy, Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska was proclaimed the patroness of catechists of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.

Afterwards, a festive academy took place, during which Rev. Mykola and Mrs. Uliana shared with the participants the joys and challenges of catechetical ministry in the United States. The heads of the eparchial religious education departments also had the opportunity to meet, discuss current challenges, and outline plans for the coming year.

The pilgrimage concluded with a solemn Liturgy at St. Peter’s Square on September 28, presided over by the Holy Father Leo XIV. All participants received the papal blessing, which became a special sign of unity and inspiration for their continued ministry.
