Archeparchy Delegation Visits Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Human Development

On Monday, May 12, members of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy visited the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

Fr. Mark Fesniak, Dean of the South Anthracite Deanery, Sofia Zacharczuk, Chief of Staff, and Marta Rubel, Social Outreach Director, met with Fr. Shawn Conoboy, Regional Coordinator - the Americas, and Yuriy Tykhovlis, Regional Coordinator - Eastern Europe, both under the Listening and Dialogue Section of the Dicastery.

Addressing four main topics—Food Security, Migration, Trafficking of Drugs and Human Beings, and Mental Health (as well as ecological debt)—the Dicastery listens, reflects and communicates geographically nuanced responses on how situations are handled on both the regional and local levels through four major addresses: World Day of Peace, World Day of Migrant and Refugees, Lenten message, and World Day for the Sick and Healthcare Services.

A meaningful dialogue highlighted common practices between the Archeparchy and the Dicastery of reaching out beyond the target audience and becoming all-inclusive in our ministry.
