In September, Catholic schools of our Archeparchy opened their doors to students. Three of our schools: Assumption Catholic School in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, St. Nicholas Ukrainian School in Minersville, PA, and St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School in Passaic, New Jersey opened their doors for children to provide them with quality education throughout the year, which is closely intertwined with Christian values and upbringing.
On September 6, 2023, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School began the 2023-2024 school year with prayer. SNUCS family of faculty, staff, students, parents, and parishioners gathered on the school grounds in a large circle for morning prayer and reflection, led by Sr. Kathleen, SSMI, Principal as she introduced the faculty/staff. Then everyone sang the American and Ukrainian anthems. Pastor Andriy Dudkevych recited a prayer upon the students and their families and blessed all. “We gathered for Divine Liturgy to thank God for all the blessings we have received, and implored God's blessing for this new school year and an end to the war in Ukraine. The motto again this year at the end of every morning prayer is "With God, All Things are Possible."
