Cardinal Christophe Pierre Visits Saint Gabriel Institute During Final Days of Diplomatic Service

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the Saint Gabriel Institute welcomed His Eminence Cardinal Christophe Pierre during the final days of his service as Apostolic Nuncio to the United States.

Cardinal Pierre was welcomed by Archbishop Borys Gudziak, who hosted the visit together the Institute. The evening began with the celebration of Vespers, during which the Cardinal joined students and formators in prayer.

Following the service, the community gathered for dinner and conversation. During the evening, Cardinal Pierre addressed the students, reflecting on his many years of diplomatic service to the Holy See. He emphasized the importance of living the Gospel fully and authentically, echoing the call of Pope Francis to embody the faith in everyday life.

The visit carried particular significance as Cardinal Pierre prepares to conclude nearly fifty years of service in the Vatican’s diplomatic corps.

The community of the Saint Gabriel Institute, together with the faithful and clergy of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia, expressed gratitude for his visit, witness, and longstanding service to the Church, offering prayerful wishes for continued strength, peace, and abundant blessings.
