Metropolitan Borys Gudziak Will Ordain Two New Deacons

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Metropolitan Borys Gudziak will ordain two new Deacons, Subdeacon Bohdan Vasyliv and Subdeacon Ihor Demydas. The Divine Liturgy with the rite of ordination will start at 10 am at the Ukrainian Catholic cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia. Please, pray for Bohdan and Ihor as they prepare to receive the diaconate and serve our Archeparchy!

Subdeacon Ihor Demydas came to the United States in the Summer of 2023 upon completing his formation at Ternopil Seminary, Ukraine, and earning the licentiate at John Paul II Pontifical Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences in Rome, Italy. He will serve in our Archeparchy while remaining incardinated in the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy.

Subdeacon Bohdan Vasyliv has been the seminarian of our Archeparchy for almost a decade and is completing his formation at Saint Charles Seminary, in Philadelphia. He also studied at our own Saint Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Seminary and at the Catholic University of America where he studied philosophy.
