Pope Francis has appointed Metropolitan Borys a member of the Dicastery for Communications

On Thursday, December 2, it was announced on the Vatican’s official website that Pope Francis had appointed Metropolitan Borys Gudziak as a member of the Dicastery for Communications.

The Holy Father has also appointed as members of the Dicastery for Communication His Eminence Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, O.F.M. Conv., archpriest of the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican; Archbishop Jorge Eduardo Lozano of San Juan de Cuyo, secretary general of the Latin American Episcopal Council (C.E.L.A.M.), Bishop Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo of Oyo; and the Reverend Sr. Nathalie Becquart, X.M.C.J., under-secretary of the Synod of Bishops.

The Dicastery of Communications was instituted by Pope Francis with his Motu Proprio on the current context of communications on 27 June 2015.  The new Dicastery was entrusted with the task of the overall reorganization of the entire communications system of the Holy See, thus becoming the single point of reference for communication, which is always more increasingly complex and interdependent. In this new system, all of the realities which dealt with communications have been brought together.
