      President Volodymyr Zelensky visits to the United States

      During their visit to the United States, President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with the Ukrainian community in New York and visited the exhibition “Alexandra Exter: The Stage is a World” at the Ukrainian Museum. The meeting gathered leaders of Ukrainian public organizations, cultural institutions, and educators.

      President Zelensky expressed gratitude to the community for their efforts in promoting Ukrainian identity and keeping the U.S. focused on Ukraine’s cause. He also shared updates on Ukraine’s ongoing fight for victory and peace, his discussions with U.S. officials, and Ukraine's prospects in NATO.

      After the event, Archbishop Borys Gudziak recounted his brief address to President Zelensky, thanking him for his leadership and resilience. “I told him that his calm and steady presence throughout this challenging time has been an inspiration to all who value human dignity, democracy, and freedom,” the Archbishop shared.

      Reflecting on the president’s interactions with soldiers and the families of fallen heroes, Archbishop Gudziak said: “I told him that I’ve seen how he addresses soldiers, widows, and orphans—not out of formality, but with genuine care. I encouraged him to protect his heart, as times of danger often cause people to close off. I emphasized that maintaining a large heart and broad vision is essential for leadership.”

      The Archbishop also recalled a lighthearted moment: “I joked that I wasn’t initiating his canonization, which made him and those present laugh.” He concluded by reaffirming that Zelensky’s leadership, along with the courage of Ukrainian soldiers and citizens, is deeply appreciated in the United States, particularly among American Catholics.
