On Thursday, October 22, representatives of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia attended the launch of the Ukrainian-language audio tour for the special exhibition "The Declaration's Journey" at the Museum of the American Revolution.
The project is part of First Lady Olena Zelenska's initiative to promote Ukrainian language and culture globally. It was made possible through a partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Philadelphia and the Ukrainian Federation of America Education Program, with funding from the Summerfield Baldwin Jr. Foundation.
The event began with opening remarks from representatives of the Museum of the American Revolution, Iryna Mazur, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Philadelphia and President of the Ukrainian Federation of America, and Chargé d'Affaires Denys Sienik. Attendees also watched a video message from First Lady Olena Zelenska.
Following the remarks, attendees were invited to explore the exhibition using the newly launched Ukrainian-language audio tour. The exhibition also features the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine, adopted on August 24, 1991.
The organizers expressed hope that this launch will mark the beginning of similar Ukrainian-language audio tours at museums throughout Philadelphia and across the United States.
