On March 16, an online working meeting was held to advance preparations for the All-American Youth Pilgrimage. The Youth Ministry of the Philadelphia Archeparchy took part in the discussion, contributing to the planning and coordination of the upcoming event.
The meeting was attended by bishops of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in the United States, including Metropolitan Archbishop Borys Gudziak of Philadelphia.
Participants addressed key elements of the 8th All-American Youth Pilgrimage, which will take place June 11-14 at the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Parma, Ohio. The discussion focused on both organizational and pastoral dimensions, including the program, coordination of ministries, and the spiritual framework of the pilgrimage.
Fr. Ostap noted that the theme of this year’s pilgrimage will be: “Your Vocation in God’s Plan.” Under this theme, the organizers aim to help young people understand God’s plan and discover their unique place within it. The program will also include reflections on different types of vocations, with representatives sharing their personal testimonies. Statistics from last year’s pilgrimage were presented, and it was noted that there are already 100 registrations for this year’s event.
Reflecting on the meeting, it was noted that the bishops’ pastoral care, their ideas, and their willingness to support the initiative provide strong inspiration for continued ministry among young people in the United States.
Those who plan to attend are encouraged to register through the link.
For additional information, or if you are considering participating for the first time, Fr. Ostap (omykytchyn@ukrcatholic.org) and Deacon Ihor (idemydas@ukrcatholic.org) are available to assist and answer any questions.
