A concert dedicated to the 209th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko

The parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania held a concert dedicated to the 209th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko "Fight - you will win. God help you." The concert celebrated  the life of Taras Shevchenko, the great Ukrainian Poet, artist and symbol of Ukrainian Independence.

The parish choir took part in the concert which presented a rich program to the audience on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of the great son of Ukraine.

March 9, 2023 marked the 209th anniversary of the birth of the national and world genius, poet, artist, public figure Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko. His name absorbed the soul of the people and became a part of their lives.

Taras became a symbol of the struggle of many generations of Ukrainians for freedom and independence. And today it protects, empowers and inspires Ukrainians to fight for freedom in the war with Russia. "Fight - you will win! God help you! For yours is the truth, for yours is the glory and the holy will!", these prophetic words became a symbol of resistance to the aggressive invasion.
