A meeting with the legendary defender of Azovstal

On Sunday, July 9, 2023, the parish community of St. Michael's Church in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania,
met with the legendary defender of Azovstal - Arseniy Fedosyuk, his wife Yulia and Kateryna Prokopenko,
the wife of the commander of the Azov National Guard regiment Denys Prokopenko.



Arseniy Fedosyuk - a member of the Mariupol defenders regiment - fought in the east of Ukraine since the beginning of the war in 2014. He was injured - a fragment from a projectile pierced his leg.  He went to war immediately after graduating from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He is a historian, and was an active participant of the Maidan. Immediately after that he went to war with the Russian invaders.

Denys Prokopenko is a peer of independent Ukraine. He turned 31 on June 27. After getting to "Azov", he decided to learn the grenade launcher. Later, the managers noticed his leadership qualities and entrusted him with the command. First, a platoon, then a company, and later a battalion. In three years, in 2017, 26-year-old Denys became the youngest commander of the Separate Special Forces "Azov" regiment.
