Bishop Borys Gudziak visits Ukraine

Archbishop Borys Gudziak’s visit to Ukraine began on February 1 and continues throughout the month.
 

On February 1, he visited Lviv Holy Spirit Theological Seminary where he met with seminarians. In a speech the Metropolitan called on seminarians to be people who radiate peace, and he stressed the importance of praying for Ukraine. The Archbishop then thanked the Lviv Seminary for the excellent graduates who minister in the Archeparchy of Philadelphia. 

On February 2, at the invitation of the Head and Father of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Metropolitan Borys took part in the 90th session of the UGCC’s Synod of Bishops. The session took place at the Patriarchal House in Lviv. His Beatitude Sviatoslav began by thanking the bishops for their active participation in the Day of Prayer for Peace called by Pope Francis. The main theme of this session of the Synod was “Honoring the Blessed and Saints in the UGCC and Beatification Processes.”Later that day, Archishop Borys took part in a presentation of Archbishop Ihor Isichenko’s book, Paradoxes of the Controversy around Brest: Peter Skarga – Meletius Smotritsky – Kasiyan Sakovich.
 

Then on February 3 the Metropolitan, who is President of the Ukrainian Catholic University, met with the UCU Business School community. “A rich person is one who knows how to be grateful. Such a person understands that he or she is gifted, and feels the value of the wealth that will remain with them forever. When you are rich in eternity, you have profound inner peace. And that peace gives you great strength, endurance, clarity of views and judgments,” said the Archbishop.
