On Sunday, February 26, 2023, another youth meeting was held at the Assumption of the BVM Parish in Perth Amboy, NJ

Youth meetings are held by the Sisters of the Family of the Incarnate Word. Sisters  presented a shadow play that narrates the story of the  Lady of Lujan, a terracotta image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception that has been venerated in Argentina since its arrival in 1630. In a digital age when children spend hours in front of a screen, it was amazing to hear a room full of children gasping over a simple silhouette that retained a sense of magic.

The shadow silhouettes create powerful images, quickly bringing the story of Our Lady of Luján to life.  Paper becomes filled with movement and mystery, shadows seem imbued with a life of their own in an astonishing exploration of light manipulated with just a pair of the Sisters’ hands.  Sisters also taught children to make Empanadas, Argentina's favorite fast food.
