Sister Timothea Celebrates Golden Jubilee of Final Vows in Joyful Ceremony

On January 1, 2025, Sister Timothea Konyu celebrated the Golden Jubilee of her Final Vows as a Missionary Sister of Mother of God. Prior to this milestone, on December 28, Archbishop Borys, accompanied by the clergy, led a solemn liturgy in her honor.

In his homily, Archbishop Borys shared, “True joy and peace come not from fulfilling our own desires, but from fulfilling the will of the Lord.” He praised Sister Timothea’s joyful spirit, her ability to smile, laugh, and speak candidly, even when life required her to do things she didn’t necessarily want to do—this, he said, is a sign of grace.

The Archbishop also focused on a passage from Saint Paul’s Letter to Timothy, highlighting that God is with us through every challenge, including pain, illness, and solitude. He noted, “Sister Timothea, your life is a witness to this truth. Every smile and every good deed you do shows the Lord’s presence among us.”

Archbishop Borys invited all present to embrace Sister Timothea, offering prayers for her and wishing her many more years of service.
