Metropolitan Borys Gudziak Awarded the Order of Merit, First Class

On August 23, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree №617/2025 awarding high state honors on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day. Among the honorees was Metropolitan Borys Gudziak, Archbishop of Philadelphia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, who received the Order of Merit, First Class.

The Order is for a significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, charitable activity, and promoting the Ukrainian state in the world.

The faithful of the Philadelphia Archeparchy warmly congratulate their Archbishop on this distinction and thank him for his devoted spiritual leadership and commitment to Ukraine during these difficult times.
