Metropolitan Borys Gudziak Participated in the Annual Meeting of the Saint Sophia Society in Rome

In Rome, at the motherhouse of the Religious Society of Saint Sophia, the regular annual meeting of the full members of the Society took place, with the participation of Metropolitan Borys Gudziak.

This year’s gathering was dedicated to reviewing the Society’s activities in 2025 and defining the future directions of its service. Participants outlined current challenges and identified development priorities for the Saint Sophia Society, placing particular emphasis on the effective administration of the Patriarchal properties, the support of Church initiatives, and the coordination of projects aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian community in the diaspora.

The Religious Society of Saint Sophia was founded by Patriarch Josyf Slipyj, who entrusted it with the mission of caring for the Patriarchal assets outside Ukraine, preserving and enhancing them, and supporting the Patriarch in his ministry and initiatives. This mission has been reaffirmed by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, who has emphasized the Society’s calling to serve the good of the entire Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, to unite Ukrainians in the diaspora, and to foster spiritual, educational, and cultural initiatives.
