During his seminary formation, he had the opportunity to visit several countries in Europe, as well as the United States. After completing his seminary studies, he was recommended for further academic formation and spent about two years in Eichstätt, Germany, pursuing studies in Canon Law.
In 2006, before completing the program, he relocated to New York City, where he began teaching at Saint George Elementary and Middle School from 2006 to 2012. He later continued his ministry at Saint George Academy as a religion teacher. Today, Subdeacon Vitaliy continues to teach religion at Saint George Academy, where he also teaches computer coding and serves the students as chaplain. He also teaches religion at the Ukrainian Heritage School in New York.
In 2023, he began the Clinical Pastoral Education program in Northern New Jersey. For several years, Subdeacon Vitaliy served as cantor at Saint George Ukrainian Catholic Church in the East Village of Manhattan, NY. After his wedding at the Ukrainian church in Hunter, NY, Vitaliy and his wife, Kaitlin, moved to Northern New Jersey. They are currently parishioners of Saint Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ramsey, NJ, where Subdeacon Vitaliy serves as cantor.
His wife, Kaitlin, works as a medical doctor. Together, Vitaliy and Kaitlin are raising their son, Jacob. Vitaliy Kit was ordained a subdeacon by His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar on February 12, 2004. During his seminary years, his vice rector was then-Father Sviatoslav Shevchuk, now the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The faithful are invited to join in prayer for Subdeacon Vitaliy, his family, and his future ministry in the Church.
